Thor – I’m coming for you!

I always have plenty in my diary, but for sure right now one thing sticks out more than any other – the big fight between me and Thor Bjornsson. Well, I say fight. Let’s face it, it’s going to be a walkover. In ancient mythology, Thor was the god of thunder. Bjornsson though is about as threatening as a light drizzle. He might have played The Mountain in Game of Thrones but I really don’t see our match-up as much of a hill to scale.

We were meant to get in the ring in September, but after tearing my bicep while sparring that was impossible. No-one was more disappointed than me. I’m taking this fight as seriously as any strongman contest in my history and when I say I’m training like it’s Tyson Fury in the opposite corner I mean it. My motivation couldn’t be stronger. Forget money, or putting a long-term rival in their place, I have never forgotten Thor’s claim that I shouldn’t have won my World’s Strongest Man title in 2017. That is all the motivation I’ll need when I climb into that ring.

People ask me if I’m nervous doing something different to strongman. Never. Not in a million years. Why would I? All through my life I’ve been a fighter. Not only that but as a strongman I’ve performed on the big stage time and time again. If anything, my confidence couldn’t be higher. What I really feel is excitement. I cannot wait to get up there and do it. My only frustration is that I’ve had to wait so long.

Now we’re on the home straight and I’m gathering momentum all the way. By the time the bout comes around I know for sure I’ll be an unstoppable force.

A true clash of the giants, Eddie Hall vs Thor Bjornsson will be the heaviest boxing match in history. They’d better make sure that ring is reinforced or we’ll both be through it.

Thor – get ready to face that knockout blow.
