I’M back in the ring – and this time I’m taking on the greatest fighters in the history of the sport. From modern-day champs to greats of generations past. I’m looking forward to giving them all a good hiding. Tyson Fury had better watch out.
OK, so I know climbing over the ropes to take on Tyson might not be a great idea. I can see he’s pretty good at what he does. Luckily, these particular fights are taking place in a virtual world –Genuinely, I’m absolutely honoured and thrilled to be part of it.
Undisputed is by a long way the best boxing game ever revealed. Why? Because boxers and fans have worked alongside the most gifted games designers to produce stunningly realistic graphics.
Footwork mechanics mean you can spring round the ring with ease, while more than 60 individual punches from multiple angles and directions, plus feint to set up a trap and counter, mean the most technical or ferocious fights can be replicated.
Initially, Undisputed will feature fifty fighters, with more to come, including a fully-fledged Women’s Division. The detail cannot be overestimated. Many of these boxers, and their trademark moves and punches, have been scanned in person. Truly, it’s incredible. I was blown away when I first saw it.
For me, someone who always loved playing all sorts of video games, this is another ‘pinch myself’ moment. I think back to myself as a kid and can’t imagine what I’d have said if someone told me I’d actually be in a game one day – let alone one this good! Imagine playing a game that you’re actually in! I can’t get my head round it!
