Taming The Beast – The Emptiness Within – a film that makes me so proud!

The time has nearly come for a major landmark in my life. Taming The Beast – The Emptiness Within tells my story in a way it’s never been told before. Oh, and my old pals Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone are along for the ride.

Taming The Beast – The Emptiness Within is a journey through my mental health – something I’ve been vocal about over the years – shining a spotlight on how it dictates so much of what’s important in our lives. No-one is more passionate than me about taking the stigma out of fronting up about mental health. I want Taming The Beast to be something that helps people for a long time to come. I want it to be something that guides them through the darker periods – something that allows them to see the light.
Nothing has been spared in making Taming The Beast the film it needs to be. Actor Gabriel Luna, from the blockbuster HBO series The Last of Us, and Oscar-winning director of photography Ali Faharani are typical of the kind of people who have jumped on board. The production has been put together by filmmakers Generation Iron, known for their brilliant in-depth documentaries and films.

Viewers – and I’m hoping you’ll be one of them! – will follow me as I reveal the mental health challenges that have travelled with me down the years. It also looks at how others in the spotlight have dealt with depression and other mental issues.

I can’t wait to see the film released early next year, and I’m hoping it will be a go-to for anyone who might be struggling. If someone like me, a symbol of strength, can open up about my problems then, I hope, so can everyone else.
