All the talk out there might be about the football World Cup coming up in Qatar, but I tell you there’s a sporting spectacle getting the pulses racing much closer to home.
Forget kicking a football around, this contest really gets to the heart and soul of human competition. on November 26, 2022, at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool, we ask just who is the World’s Strongest Nation.
It’s a battle royale between the two most eminent strongmen nations on Earth – Great Britain and the USA. And guess who’s coming out of retirement to lead his home country? That’s right – yours truly. Well, how could I miss the chance to get one over on a few old rivals, and prove also I’ve still got what it takes?
It’s a commitment which means a lot of hard work, but let’s face it I’ve never been one to shirk full-on training to get myself in the very best of shape. One thing nobody can ever accuse me of doing in the five years since I won World’s Strongest Man is letting myself go.
I know also that our team is absolutely formidable, including as it does my big pals, defending World’s Strongest Man Tom Stoltman as well as his older brother Luke.
I’m very pleased to say there are also three World’s Strongest Woman champions on Team UK. Donna Moore is the three-time World’s Strongest Woman, while 2018 World’s Strongest Woman Andrea Thompson will also give our chances of victory a major boost. Same with 2021 World’s Strongest Woman Rebecca Roberts.
I’m not saying victory will be easy. Team USA is led by the massively experienced Robert Oberst and features 2021 Shaw Classic winner Trey Mitchel, and former Arnold Amateur Champion Inez Carrasquillo.
Make no mistake this is a line-up of talent rarely assembled in one place. Add a competitive edge and I’m cast-iron sure we will see an incredible and unforgettable day.
Now all you have to do is come along and cheer us on! See you there!
Big love – Eddie
