28 Jan 18 | I'm Britain's Strongest Man - again!
I MIGHT be the World’s Strongest Man, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of people who want to compete with me and try to knock me down.
I’d won Britain’s Strongest Man four times before and yet this weekend’s victory was probably the toughest of the lot. It was a battle all the way and considering I couldn’t deadlift 200kg two months ago because of a severe hip injury, I’m more than happy to have finished top of the podium.
Since I was crowned World’s Strongest Man in Botswana last summer, and since the victory was shown on TV at New Year, life has been hectic to say the least.
But I’m a professional and a competitor. I will always train to ensure I’m the best and will always give it my all in the arena of competition.
That’s what I did at Doncaster and that’s why I came away with the title. I finished in the top two positions in all but one of a tough but good mix of events and that was enough to see off the challenge of Graham Hicks and Terry Hollands.
It was a great confidence booster ahead of the next biggie – Europe’s Strongest Man, when I’ll be facing arch enemy Thor at Leeds First Direct Arena on April 7. Be good to see you there.
Big Love – the World’s and Britain’s Strongest Man
